
Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung attended the opening ceremony of the Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) International workshop on Combating New Psychoactive Substances and Tracing Illicit Financial Flows on the morning of January 21, 2025. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, and AIT, JTEA, AO, and CTOT. It brought together 60 distinguished international guests from 37 countries, along with representatives from foreign missions in Taiwan and domestic law enforcement, prosecution, and investigation agencies—totaling 315 participants. The gathering served to enhance transnational cooperation in drug prevention and control.
In his speech, Minister Lin emphasized that the GCTF is a vital platform for Taiwan to collaborate with like-minded partners in addressing global challenges. Through hosting international training workshops, Taiwan aims to enhance capacity building, strengthen cooperation, and foster exchanges among participating nations, ensuring a united approach to tackling shared challenges. As the GCTF marks its 10th anniversary this year, Taiwan remains dedicated to working hand in hand with all partners to create lasting, positive impacts worldwide.
Since its establishment in 2015, the GCTF has invited more than 10,000 participants from over 130 countries and regions, organizing 86 workshops both in Taiwan and abroad. This year commemorates a decade of impactful collaboration.
