GCTF Workshop on Strengthening Civilian Training

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Finland, and National Police Agency, successfully conducted the "Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) on Strengthening Civilian Training" from June 25 to 27, 2024.

The event brought together over 260 speakers and participants from 27 countries, including domestic civil force-related training personnel. Attendees shared best practices in civil force training, addressing common challenges and enhancing societal resilience.

Key discussion topics included:

  • The Current Status and Prospects of Civilian Training
  • Alarm distribution systems
  • Planning and management of evacuation and shelter facilities
  • Civilian Training Utilization and Validation
  • Civilian Training Programs
  • Cooperative mechanisms with private NGOs

International delegates visited the North District Training Center of the National Civil Force Task Force and the Public transportation (and shelter) Ximen MRT Station, gaining insights into Taiwan's civilian training programs and civil defense infrastructure.

In light of rapidly evolving global challenges and climate change threats, improving societal resilience and emergency response capabilities is paramount. Taiwan and like-minded countries will continue to foster international exchanges and cooperation through the GCTF platform, aiming to strengthen national defense resilience, build robust and secure societies, and maintain global peace and stability.
