Embassy of the ROC Taiwan in Palau, in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States and the Palauan Ministry of State, jointly organized the inaugural Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) International Workshop in Palau on November 3, 2023. The workshop, centered around the theme "Strengthening Media Literacy: Recognizing Mis/Disinformation," signifies the first GCTF event hosted in Palau. It delved into various aspects of global misinformation prevalent in the digital age and explored effective strategies for contemporary individuals to counteract such challenges.
The workshop witnessed robust participation from key stakeholders, including Palauan media, members of the media association, government officials, students, and faculty from community colleges, as well as representatives of local non-governmental organizations. Additionally, officials from the embassies of Taiwan, the United States, Japan, and Australia were actively engaged in the discussions. The event fostered a dynamic and interactive atmosphere, promoting meaningful dialogue on the crucial topic of media literacy and misinformation.
