2023 Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF)  International Workshop on Maritime Disasters Measures

In collaboration with the Ocean Affairs Council and the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the American Institute in Taiwan, Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association, the Australian Office in Taipei, and the Embassy of Saint Lucia, hosted the "2023 Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF) International Workshop on Maritime Disaster Measures" from October 18 to 19 in Taiwan. The event welcomed approximately 30 officials, scholars, and experts specializing in maritime environments and disaster prevention from 13 countries across the Indo-Pacific and the Caribbean regions. The workshop focused on addressing challenges and sharing strategies related to topics such as tsunamis and marine pollution.

 

As part of the program, organizers arranged a visit to the Chiayi Cutter and the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology in Keelung. This initiative aimed to deepen participants' understanding of Taiwan's marine affairs and foster mutual exchange among attendees.
